Online Monitor with the Best Value

According to our customers, OilWatcher is the monitor with the best value among online oil-in-water monitors. OilWatcher achieves the best value with several distinct features:

  1. Good accuracy. In multiple field verification programs, OilWatcher has proven to have accuracy that is equivalent to that of laboratory procedures, such as EPA Method 1664A for Oil and Grease, when the variation of solid content is small to moderate. In applications where the variation of solid content is so large that the water changes from clear to very dark, OilWatcher has been able to track the trending well and detect the spikes in oil concentration.

  2. Robust. The unique design of OilWatcher enables it to provide reliable measurements with accuracy meeting the requirements in a wide range of applications, from accuracy measurement of concentrations to trending and spike detection. OilWatcher has functioned well in outdoor field environment from air temperature below 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 degrees Celsius) in winter to under summer sun in over 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) air.

  3. Low price. Through innovative product design and other measures of reducing product cost, we offer OilWatcher at much lower price than similar products in the market that uses fluorescence or other high sensitivity measurement principles.

  4. Versatile. In addition to the UV fluorescence measurement principle, OilWatcher also utilizes light absorption to increase the range of measurement and handle the situations of highly varying solids. Consequently, OilWatcher can be used to monitor many types of water.

  5. Easy to use. OilWatcher has been built to simplify operations as much as possible. The graphical user interface provides the measurement results and displays the trends. In a few short and easy to follow steps, the user can calibrate the OilWatcher and adjust the settings where desired.

  6. Low maintenance. In all configurations of OilWatcher, the maintenance requirement is minimal and consists of only fouling removal. All configurations are built so that fouling removal can be done by hand brushing, and the total operation from isolation to cleaning and returning to service can be completed within less than a minute. The automated cleaning further reduces the frequency of maintenance.

We strive to provide prompt excellent technical support when the customer encounters a need. Technical Support is provided by our application engineers who are highly skilled in the products. Measurement Principles

OilWatcher uses both UV fluorescence and light absorption to measure the oil concentration in water. UV fluorescence is the most widely accepted method for oil-in-water concentration measurements. The high sensitivity of fluorescence with the variation of oil concentration makes it ideal for measuring low concentrations of oil. Light absorption provides additional information about the oil and other materials in water, helping to overcome the limitations of UV fluorescence when oil concentration is high and when there are suspended solids or dissolved coloring materials in water.

OilWatcher automatically combines the fluorescence and light absorption raw data, and applies our advanced processing algorithm to achieve measurements under very large range of oil concentrations, and under highly varying amount of solids.

With these measurement principles, OilWatcher has successfully measured oil concentrations below 1 ppm, a few ppm to over 10 ppm, in the range of 10 - 100 ppm, several hundred ppm, and variations from less than 100 ppm to thousands of ppm and even several percent. OilWatcher has also successfully measured oil concentrations in water that varies from all clear to pitch black due to changes in the amount of solids.
